PRODUCERS from the Maldon district are enjoying the great taste of success after receiving a prestigious award.

The Great Taste Awards 2021 winners have been announced and a number of Essex businesses have been recognised. 

The awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, are the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink awards.

Among the Essex winners is a famous luxury smokehouse in Heybridge.

Lambton and Jackson’s Maldon Royal Smoked Salmon was awarded one star for its "fantastic flavour".

The Heybridge-based business won two-star and three-star awards in 2018 and 2019 respectively, making this the third time the company has been recognised in the ‘Oscars’ of the food and drink industry.

The smokehouse was co-founded by Darcy Lambton and Sean Jackson in 2014.
