School children touring a Second World War cruiser had a surprise meeting with the Prime Minister who was paying tribute to D-Day veterans.
Children in Class Five, age 10-11, at St Nicholas School Tillingham, were visiting HMS Belfast on May 20 as part of their World War Two study.
They bumped into David Cameron, who was taking part in the D-Day commemoration on board.
Taylor Tuckey, 11, said meeting Mr Cameron was a surprise.
He said: “We weren’t expecting to see the Prime Minister on our trip, so we were extremely surprised when he made the effort to come and speak to just us.”
