(Brick House Road, Loamy Hill Road, Plains Road, School Road, The Street & Witham Road/ Plains Road, Little Totham, Tolleshunt Major & Great Totham) (40MPH & 50MPH Speed Limit) Order 201*

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Orders under Sections 84(1) and (2) and Part Ill to Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:
1. To introduce a 40MPH speed limit on those lengths of roads in the parishes of Little Totham, Tolleshunt Major and Great Totham in the District of Maldon as specified (The roads are currently derestricted)

Description
From its junction with Witham Road/Plains Road in a generally northern direction, for a distance of approximately 280 metres.

Loamy Hill Road, Tolleshunt Major
Description
From its junction with Plains Road in a generally northern direction, for a distance of approximately 285 metres.

Plains Road, Tolleshunt Major/ Little Totham/ Great Totham
Description
From its junction with Loamy Hill Road/The Street in a generally western direction, for a distance of approximately 1190 metres.
Road
School Road, Little Totham
Description
From a point approximately 40 metres south of its junction with Park Wood Lane in a generally northern direction, for a distance of approximately 370 metres.

Witham Road/ Plains Road, Tolleshunt Major
Description
From its junction with Loamy Hill Road/The Street in a generally eastern direction, for a distance of approximately 340 metres.

2. To introduce a 50MPH speed limit on The Street, in the Parishes of Little Totham and Tolleshunt Major in the District of Maldon from a point approximately 50 metres south of its junction with Plains Road in a generally southern direction, for a distance of approximately 340 metres (The road is currently derestricted)

Further details: A copy of the draft Order, maps illustrating the proposal and a Statement of Reasons may be examined at all reasonable hours at Environment, Sustainability & Highways, County Hall, Chelmsford; Maldon District Council, Council Offices, Princes Road, Maldon and at Tiptree Library, Rectory Road, Tiptree.

Objections: Anyone who wishes to object to the proposed Orders should send the grounds for their objection in writing to 'TRO Comments, South Area Highways Office, 1 Endeavour Drive, Festival Business Park, Basildon, SS14 3WF' or e-mail to TRO-commentssoutharea@essex.gov.uk by 29 March 2012.
