Lee Power

Sports editor

Lee joined the Romford Recorder in October 1996, having graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BA (Hons) Broadcast Journalism degree. He self-published a book on local ice hockey team, the Romford Raiders, in 1997 and worked freelance for Sky Sports on live broadcasts. Then after a stint at the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, he returned in July 2001 and covered the London 2012 Olympics. He became Group Sports Editor of the East London titles in January 2013, taking on North London titles some while afterwards. And his role expanded further to include other editions in the Archant stable, including in the South West, Herts & Cambs. After time spent working on production of the daily titles in Suffolk and Norfolk, he has been focusing on content creation and production in the London titles once again in more recent times.
