Two cars were burnt out after a suspected electrical fault.
A Ford Focus and a Mini Cooper caught alight in Lawling Avenue, Heybridge, on Thursday night.
Maldon fire station officer, Martin Cable, is not treating the fire as suspicious and believes an electrical fault in the Focus may have been to blame.
