A woman who labelled herself a "Nanny McPhee" for animals took an intrepid six-day journey to bring four dogs and three cats back to England.
Patricia Chalkley, who calls herself Sophia Angelini, decided to bring her animals back to England with her from Lesvos, Greece, including on two 12-hour ferries.
She raised £450 for the pet passports via the GoFundMe website and paid the remaining costs herself.
She said: "On the ferry to Venice there were lots of refugees.
"They were gathered around just watching the animals, all these people who had gone through horrible things."
