Maldon tuned in to the sound of Madness when a star descended on SaintFM and debuted his new song.
Madness saxophonist and songwriter Lee Thompson spent two hours on the radio station, as part of Mr Happy’s Ska and Mod Show on SaintFM and played new single from the Lee Thompson Ska Orchestra, ‘It May Be Winter Outside’.
He reminisced about younger life in Camden in the 1970s and amused listeners by retelling tales of other stars.
His appearances rounds off a star-studded year for SaintFM which saw singer Judy Tzuke, rock icons Uriah Heep and up-and-coming indie rockers Nothing But Thieves all participate in the show.
Station chairman Steve Bates said: “But we’re not just about established stars.
“We now have three brilliant shows which actively support emerging local talent
