This year's race will take place at Goldhanger Creek on August 26, at 11.45am, to coincide with the high tide. The rules are, boats must have hulls are made of paper or cardboard, not more than 30 cms in length and not have any kind of ballast.
The only form of power permitted is that of sail.
There will be three awards, one for the overall winner, the under-15 winner, and the slowest boat.
Awards will be presented at the sailing club immediately afterwards, where a barbecue will be lit for DIY cooking. Donations to Essex Air Ambulance will be collected.

PARISH COUNCIL
As Goldhanger parish council no longer has a summer recess, there will be an ordinary meeting next Tuesday, August 15, at 7.30pm in the village hall.
As usual, public are welcome to attend to listen to the business discussed and raise any issues of concern.
EXHIBITION
Brian Callaghan' s latest exhibition in the Maeldune Centre in Maldon starts on August 15 and ends on September 8.
It is entitled Here and There and includes watercolours, gouache, acrylics and charcoal.
The centre is open from 1pm to 4pm on weekdays, and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and admission is free.
