A gallery is hosting an array of work by some of Britain’s most prominent artists as a new season of exhibitions launches.
The Hayletts Gallery, in Maldon, is showcasing famous works by big-name artists this month as part of its Annual Collectors Show.
The show, which runs from this Saturday until April 4, will include work from the likes of David Hockney to Barbara Hepworth and Anthony Gormley.
Gallery director Sally Patrick said: “Buying an original print is a brilliant way of starting your art collection at a price which may surprise you.
“Virtually all of the artists in this exhibition have art works in the Tate permanent collection and many in international museums and gallery collections too.
“It is worth bearing in mind, collecting art is a fun and well-documented area to make a shrewd investment.”
“Hayletts Gallery want to encourage everyone to see this exhibition, from the seasoned art collector to anyone who is simply interested – all are very welcome.”
The show consists largely of signed etchings, engravings, screen prints, linocuts, woodcuts, and lithographs.
Sally added: “Many printing processes go back generations and involve time-consuming, complicated techniques.
“With each process, the artist creates a certain finish and sense of intention to suit their needs, be it delicate atmospheric vistas or large colourful abstracts.”
This year’s exhibition includes work by Francis Bacon, Edward Bawden, John Bellany, Edward Burra, Eileen Cooper, Alan Davie, Mary Fedden, Terry Frost, Eric Gill, Anthony Gormley, Anthony Gross, Barbara Hepworth, David Hockney and many more.
