A BIG-HEARTED garden centre has made a generous donation to a hospital in a bid to reduce staff stress levels.
Perrywood Garden Centre, in Tiptree, donated £350 worth of house plants to Colchester General Hospital last week.
Staff were waiting for the special delivery.
Garden centre spokesman Louise Smith said: “We were really impressed by the amount of staff who turned up to receive their houseplants.
“It is great to see so many people keen to green up their office space.”
It is hoped the initiative will help boost staff concentration and reduce stress levels.
Perrywood has previously donated houseplants to 28 primary schools across Essex and Suffolk in a bid to green up classrooms and to get children interested in plants.
They have also donated plants to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.
