A SCHOOL has received the top rating achievable from watchdogs.
All Saints’ Primary School, in Maldon, has been awarded an ‘excellent’ rating by church school inspectors.
The school is the only one of six schools in the Chelmsford diocese to receive the top rank.
Headteacher Phil Brown said: “It is really exciting to be acknowledged for the holistic approach the school takes, where the Christian ethos of the school really does ensure that every child shines.”
The report said: The report said: “The school has developed an innovative intergenerational partnership with a local care home (the UP project), which widens pupils’ horizons to the needs of others.
“This project not only helps pupils become courageous advocates for change but serves to develop their interpersonal skills.
“One pupil explained how he was more comfortable speaking with others as a result of his experience.
“There is a tangible sense of welcome in the school and the inclusiveness is reflected in the space given to the celebration of pupils and their work.”
Chair of governors Dan Doherty said he was “delighted” with the report.
He said: “We truly believe this reflects positively on the whole school and its role in the wider community.”
