THE battle lines have been drawn for next month’s local elections.
Voters go to the polls on May 6 when a number of elections are taking place.
The Essex County Council elections will see three seats across the Maldon district being contested.
In total there are 75 seats up for grabs on the council across Essex.
As it stands the county council is Conservative-led with 52 councillors.
The Lib Dems have eight, Labour six, there are seven non-aligned councillors, one indepedent and one vacancy.
There is also an election for the post of Essex police, crime and fire service commissioner.
Two seats on Maldon District Council are up for grabs, with elections for the Heybridge East ward and in Tollesbury.
A seat for Heybridge Basin Parish Council is also being fought.
Mark Salisbury has been elected to Heybridge Parish Council after he was the only nomination.
There were no nominations for a vacancy on Burnham Town Council.
