A YOUTH football club has kicked off an appeal so life-saving kit is available to the community.
Maldon Saints YFC has a defibrillator in its club house.
Bosses now want to mount the defibrillator on the outside of the building so it can be used by the community if there is an emergency.
Spokesman Matt Elderton said: "We have a defibrillator but it is kept in the clubhouse and is not available unless the clubhouse is unlocked.
"The clubhouse is used by a number of community based groups and we would like to keep the defibrillator in an external cabinet so it is visible and available to the wider community."
The club needs to raise £600 and has set up a Gofundme page.
Mr Elderton said: "We are looking for local business or residents to contribute.
"Any additional funds will go towards first aid training for our volunteers."
To donate go to gofund.me/b4a19bd0.
