THIS year's Maldon Mud Race has been cancelled due to organisers' worries surrounding Covid.
Despite the relaxing of restrictions on Monday the Maldon Mud Race team found themselves put in a difficult situation to organise the event while taking into consideration social distancing and uncertainty surrounding the Delta variant.
The event was set to take place on August 15 in Promenade Park.
The Maldon Mud Race has attracted huge crowds in an effort to raise money for charities in the area since the 1980s. It will be back next year on April 24.
Entrants can either transfer their entry to next year, donate their entry fee to the charity so they can make an interim donation for 2021 or cancel their entry with refund.
Organisers urge entrants to transfer their entry or donate if they can as the cancellation of the event will be a huge blow to the many charities that they support.
