A BOOKSHOP’S pop-up in the park opened at the weekend.
Maldon Books opened the Book Hut on Saturday at Promenade Park.
The pop-up was set up by the team at Maldon Books with the help of family, friends and fellow businesses.
Borough Flooring and Home provided the hut’s vinyl flooring, the Maldon Deckchair Company gave seating, and Wenlock’s Furnishings provided fabric for the bunting.
The Booksellers Association has also been thanked as their grant funding was used towards the shepherds’ hut.
Bosses opened the hut at 10am.
Maldon author Jake Tyler cut the ribbon and signed copies of his latest book in the morning.
James Henry joined the event at 2pm for another book signing.
And there were treats to give away to visitors and plenty of books to buy.
Olivia Rosenthall, from Maldon Books, said: “We had a lovely day.
“It was incredibly hot, but it was so nice to see everyone who made an effort to come down and see us.”
The Book Hut will be open until the end of September along with fellow independent business Silo’s zero waste and refillery pop-up.
