Sixth form students at William de Ferrers School celebrated their successful A-Level results yesterday.

Staff and students at William de Ferrers School, in South Woodham Ferrers, said it was a 'wonderful day' as students, parents and staff celebrated the hard work and successes of the sixth-formers.

A spokesman for William de Ferrers said: "The tremendous efforts and resilience undertaken throughout their two-year courses have been rewarded.

Notable achievements by the sixth form students at William de Ferrers include Josh Brough who got four A* grades in Maths, Further Maths, physics and Extended Project qualification, as well as an A grade in English Literature.

Josh is furthering his education, reading music at Berklee College of music in Boston, USA.

Head boy Thomas Campbell also achieved an A* in Extended Project qualification, along with three A grades in Biology, Maths and Physics and a B in English Literature.

Thomas has been offered a place at The University of Manchester to read aerospace engineering.

And deputy head boy Nathan Stone achieved three A* grades in English Literature, Government and Politics and Extended Project qualification and a Distinction * in BTEC Sport.

Nathan is going on to study politics at the University of Warwick.

Jake Trevallion got four A grades in Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths and Physics.

Jake is continuing his studies at the University of Surrey, reading physics.

Jennifer Harris received four A* grades in Classical Civilisations, History, Government and Politics and Extended Project qualification.

Jennifer is going to the University of Reading to study history and archaeology.

Daisy Brabbs also achieved two A* grades in English Language and Literature and Extended Project qualification, and two As in Classical Civilisations and History.

Daisy is continuing her studies in ancient history and archaeology at Durham University.

Other students who excelled in their courses include Nathan Laverack, Daniel Washer, Michael Thompson, Alex Game, George Hadley, Oliver Valentine, Samuel Jessop, Talia Swanborough and Rachel Chiverton.

The staff at William de Ferrers school congratulated their students, and all the students across the county for what they have achieved.

Staff wish them every success as they progress onto the next stage of their education, employment or training.
