SHOPS on Maldon High Street are getting 'nifty with fifty' by taking on the Farleigh Hospice £50 Challenge.
A total of five stores on the high street have signed up to the charity's annual challenge.
These shops will compete to see who can raise the most money for Farleigh.
This can be by undertaking a variety of fundraising activities to raise money for the hospice, from raffles to sales of specially created products for the event.

Michelle Martin, corporate fundraiser at Farleigh Hospice said: “It’s so great that the businesses of Maldon High Street are supporting our £50 Challenge.
"There’s nothing like a bit of friendly competition among neighbours, and we wish all five of them the best of luck with their fundraising.
"These five stores join 20 other businesses across mid Essex that are supporting us this year.
"Our £50 Challenge tasks participants to grow their £50 start-up money, provided by our sponsor Birkett Long, into hundreds, or even thousands of pounds through their own fundraising activities.
"This year’s challenge is celebrating the amazing work of the Farleigh Hospice nurses who have been working on the frontline of the pandemic, supporting the NHS and delivering hospice care within people’s homes and out in the community.
"All the money raised by the challenge will go towards helping our care teams to continue to provide vital support to people affected by life-limiting illness or bereavement in our community.
"There’s still time to enter, so please get in touch and help support your local hospice.”
The aim of the challenge is for participants to grow the £50 start-up money, provided by sponsor Birkett Long, into hundreds, or even thousands through their own fundraising activities.
The challenge runs from the April 1 to September 30 annually and is open to businesses, groups or organisations of any size.
Participants are given six months to raise as much money as possible in aid of Farleigh Hospice.
There’s still time to enter, and registration is open until September 30.
