A FILM club is returning to town for its new season.
Maldon Film Club have confirmed the 2021/22 season will begin as planned on Tuesday, September 7.
Doors open 7.30pm in Maldon Town Hall, with films rolling at 8pm.
Only fully-paid members will be admitted and arrangements will be in place to ensure viewers are in a safe environment.
The new season begins with the screening of The White Crow directed by Ralph Fiennes.
John Salisbury of the film club said: "Fiennes captures the raw physicality and brilliance of Rudolph Nureyev whose escape to the West stunned the world."
Its second film for September 21, is the Oscar nominated A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood, a timely story of kindness triumphing over cynicism.
John added: "As always, the programme for our new season covers a wide variety of themes with films from different regions of the world."
Included in the programme are the award winning A Taste of Honey, Bait, Jo Jo Rabbit, Parasite, Sorry We Missed You and The Farewell as well as Corpus Christi, For Sama, Honeyland, Knives Out, Portrait of a Lady on Fire and Pain and Glory all of which received at least one Oscar or Golden Globe nomination.
The season continues until May 25 with films being shown fortnightly on Tuesdays in 2021 and Wednesdays in 2022.

The club works on a membership basis and is run by a committee which selects and screens an annual programme of films, plus one classic/members’ choice.
The price of an annual subscription is £25 which gives members free admission to all of the season’s films - excellent value even if not all 19 films are attended.
Also, there are a limited number of £18 places for junior members aged 16-18 in full-time education and training.
