A PERSONAL watercraft (PWC) rider was caught riding in an "anti-social manner" on the River Blackwater today.
Essex Police Marine Unit posted about the incident on social media.
The marine police said the rider didn't know how to stop his PWC or switch off the engine and collided with police on their waterbike twice.
A spokesman for the unit said: "The serious point to this is that these are not toys and can do a lot of damage without training."
The rider’s details were forwarded to the Harbour Master with a view to court action being taken for breaching the local byelaws.
The Burnham-based marine unit's PWC was donated by Maldon District Council in July.
