AN outline planning application for up to 97 new homes in Tolleshunt Knights has been submitted to Maldon District Council.

Kler Group hopes to build homes on land east and west of Top Road.

The applicant wishes to implement a “landscape-led approach” with open space, children’s play area, and neighbourhood amenity space.

And the proposed site is located near the southeast of Tiptree town centre.

Access would be via two new priority controlled T-junctions.

The council provided a positive response to the incorporation of bungalows, as such the proposal seeks to implement 10 per cent bungalow provision.

This will aim to support the ageing population.

Also, no heritage assets are located within 450m of the proposed development.

Tolleshunt Knights Parish Council will hold a public meeting next Tuesday, September 21, to discuss the outline planning application.

It will be held at the village hall in Top Road, at 7.30pm.
