MUSEUM visitors are encourage to go dressed in their “faery best” to the return of a magical fayre.

Langford’s Museum of Power is set to host the return of its Essex Faery Fayre this weekend.

Guests will have the chance of being crowned fancy dress prince, princess, king, and queen at the event on Saturday, September 25.

It will run from 12pm to 6pm with a range of entertainment for all the family to enjoy.

There will be live music and competitions, craft workshops and stalls, children and family activities, and a candlelight procession.

Children are set to enjoy storytelling, hoola hoop sessions, wand making workshops, and a “mystical labyrinth”.

The steam pump tea room, Astaria model village, and miniature steam train rides, will all be open for visitors to enjoy,

Artisan food and drink, and camping, are all also available on the big day.

The event finishes with the procession, leading to Astaria with more than 400 candlelit lanterns set to illuminate the village and its fairies and elves.

Adult tickets cost £6, with concessions at £5, children aged 5 to 15 cost £3, and entry for under 5s is free.

Tickets are available on the door.

This is the popular museum’s second ever faery fayre, as last year’s event was cancelled amid coronavirus restrictions.

The first ever Essex Faery Fayre was held in 2019 with hundreds enjoying the spectacular.
