A FILM club welcomes residents to enjoy its exciting screenings next month.
Maldon Film Club opened its doors again a few weeks ago and welcomed in the new season with the screening of highly acclaimed films.
The season continues next Tuesday (October 5) and October 19 when the films to be shown are Oscar nominated For Sama and Bait, a BAFTA award winner.
The films to be screened in November are The Truth and fellow Oscar nominated Corpus Christi.
The programme for the 2021/22 season covers a wide variety of themes with films from different regions of the world.
It continues until May 25 with films being shown fortnightly on Tuesdays this year and Wednesdays next year.
The club works on a membership basis and is run by a committee which screens an annual programme of 18 films from the best of recent English and foreign language releases plus one “classic”/members’ favourite.
The price of an annual subscription is just £25 which gives members free admission to all of the season’s films - less than £1.32 per film.
There are also a limited number of places for junior members aged 16 to 18 in full-time education and training at the reduced cost of £18.
As a member you will be asked to give your reaction to the films you have seen and also help the committee compile the programme for the following season.
For more details and an application form check maldonfilmclub.uk, visit the Maldon Visitor Information Centre or contact John Salisbury on 07905971608.
Special arrangements have been put in place to ensure everyone who attends is able to watch this season’s films in a safe and secure environment.
