A BID to turn a high street centre's treatment rooms into a one bed flat has been refused.
An application was submitted to Maldon District Council which proposed change of use of the Kings Head Centre suite of treatment rooms to a one bedroom residential flat.
This would have been in the White Horse Lane end of the centre's first floor.
The first floor has treatment rooms and offices.

The applicant proposed "very little change" to the existing layout, only the blocking up of a corridor doorway and introduction of a new entrance door.
The back treatment room would become a lounge, the reception a dining area and
kitchen, and the front treatment room would be the bedroom with an en-suite.
However in a decision released on Monday, the council have refused the bid.
The planning officer said the development would result in the "loss of an employment use" and a "community service/facility".
They also added the occupiers of the proposed flat would "not be provided with an adequate quality of life" due to noise levels.
