PLANS have been revealed to refurbish and extend a historic high street building which was the former home of an estate agents.
The proposal aims to repurpose the former Bairstow Eves Grade-II listed building in Maldon High Street into four individual units.
This includes a ground floor work unit, a one-bedroom ground floor flat and two one-bedroom first floor flats.
The ground floor has a small 19th century shop front and the plan also includes an upgrade to the existing shop frontage to "return it to the traditional character it once had".

The rear extension adds 32m2 in gross internal area over two floors.
Parts of the building date back to the 14th century, according to the design and access statement prepared by architects Annabel Brown.
Four similar applications for the former estate agents building have previously been withdrawn.
Maldon District Council will have the final say on this application.
