A REMEMBRANCE parade in Tiptree is set to honour those who died in the First World War.
The parade on Sunday, November 14, will start from The Centre at around 2.15pm.
A ceremony at the War Memorial will run from 2.20pm to 2.55pm.
After this the parade will walk along Church Road for a service at St. Luke’s at 3pm.
Organisers advise drivers to avoid the junction where the War Memorial stands around the time of the ceremony.
A road closure has been applied for with access only in Chapel Road; Church Road between The Centre and the War Memorial; and Station Road between Anchor Road and the memorial for the duration of the ceremony.
Traffic between Factory Hill and Station Road will be allowed through on a “turn and turn-about” basis only when its “safe to do so”.
It may also be stopped for short periods - particularly for the silence.
And the junction may close completely if there is a large turnout for the event.
Residents are asked to drive slowly, quietly and carefully near the War Memorial junction.
The following roads can be used to avoid the junction within Tiptree:
- New Road
- Anchor Road
- Rectory Road
Points south of the junction can be accessed via Maldon Road (Tiptree Heath) following a route through Loamy Hill Road and Witham Road to Tolleshunt D’Arcy or Grove Farm Road and Tudwick Road to Tolleshunt Knights and vice versa.
