A POPULAR fireworks show returned this year with thousands gathering to watch the "fantastic" display.
Maldon Rotary Club organised the comeback of the Promenade Park annual fireworks event.
Before the event Brian Farrington, Maldon Rotary chairman, said: "We are so excited to be hosting the return of this magnificent firework event and we hope to see crowds of around 5,000 on the night.
"We will be inviting our Chelmer Radio and we hope to have some exciting mini give-aways on the night for children, some great food and fun as well as providing some memorable fireworks, all set off to music with a floodlit lake.
"We hope Maldon will support us again and entrance prices remain unchanged from 2019."
And the community did support the event with thousands of residents flocking to Promenade Park on Saturday, November 6.
Essex photographer Daniel Reed said it was a "fantastic night" with a much larger crowd than expected.
Gates opened at 5.30pm and guests enjoyed music, mulled wine and food stalls including the award winning Maldon sausages.
The bonfire was lit 7pm and the show-stopping fireworks started at 7.30pm.
