THERE are a number of Remembrance events taking place across the Maldon district for residents to pay their respects.
We've put together a round-up of events happening in the district on both Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday.
Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day takes place on Thursday, November 11.
In Maldon there will be a service taking place at Hythe Quay at 10.45am.
Residents should be aware maroon will be fired.
In Burnham a service will take play at the War Memorial at 10.45am. Further details are set to come.
And in Mayland there will be a service at the Memorial Garden in Bakersfield Walk.
Residents will meet before 11am.
Remembrance Sunday
Remembrance Sunday, also known as Poppy Day owing to the tradition of wearing a remembrance poppy, takes place this Sunday, November 14.
In Maldon a parade and service will take place in the High Street at the War Memorial from 10.30 to 11.15am.
Burnham's annual service of Remembrance and wreath laying will be an open air service at the War Memorial.
The service will start with a procession from the Baptist Church at 10.30am.
There will be a parade in Heybridge from Plantation Hall to Heybridge Cemetery followed by a service at 10.35am.
In Little Totham there will be a remembrance service at the Tommy War Memorial on the common - meeting from 10.45am.
In Little Braxted a service will take place at the War Memorial at 2.30pm.
Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome is set to host a free ticket only event.
The Remembrance parade will take place from 1pm to 3pm.
