NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two establishments in the district – and it’s good news for them both.
Tollesbury Cafe at Unit 4 of Little Marsh Estate was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on November 12, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
The dine-in is described as a "friendly" cafe/tea room which serves breakfasts and lunches.
It has an Eskimo Joe Slushy and a Whippy ice cream machine, and is also dog friendly.
>>> Popular 'quirky' tea room handed highest food hygiene rating
Parlour Cafe at Creeksea Place Farm in Burnham was also given the highest food hygiene rating of five on November 17.
It is also a dog-friendly cafe after it launched a special room for customers with pooches last year.
>>> Dog walkers can 'paws' for a rest at canine-friendly cafe
Dogs had always been welcome in the garden but the new separate space allows them to come indoors.
And last month it launched a brand new special menu for the four-legged friends.
Both dine-ins are highly rated by customers too - with a five-out-of-five rating for Tollesbury Cafe on Trip Advisor and a 4.5 for Parlour Cafe.
One reviewer described the Burnham cafe as a "home from home", while another said Tollesbury Cafe was a "a little gem".
