A VIRTUAL jobs fair is set to be launched and employers in the district are being urged to join in.
Employers are being invited to showcase their job opportunities at a virtual job fair in the new year.
Previous events this year were viewed by more than 9,000 residents across the county.
Maldon District Council is teaming up with Chelmsford City Council to bring another jobs event after this success.
It is being organised in partnership with the Essex Opportunities Portal team - a one stop shop for information on employment, training and careers for residents.
The event, free for employers to attend, will be held on the Learn Live platform on February 10 from 11am to 1pm.
Employers will have the opportunity to record a 15 minute video showcasing their business and vacancies which will be shown to residents during the event.
Job vacancies can be added to a virtual job board before the day and a live chat function will be enabled to talk directly to candidates.
Richard Siddall, leader designate of Maldon District Council, said: “Due to shortages in the labour market, businesses have found it difficult to recruit in the past 18 months. This event will aim to ease those difficulties and provide them with an opportunity to engage directly with potential candidates in an informal setting.”
Businesses interested in participating should email essex.opportunities@essex.gov.uk.
