A COUNCIL has announced its revised waste and recycling collection dates over the Christmas and New Year period.
Maldon District Council has revealed its festive period waste collection dates, and there are some changes.
The usual collections next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (December 28-30) will be collected a day later than usual on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (December 29-31).
The usual collection on Friday, December 31, will be collected on Tuesday, January 4.
Then the usual and revised collection dates in the New Year are as follows:
- Tuesday, January 4 will be collected on Wednesday, January 5
- Wednesday, January 5 will be collected instead on Thursday, January 6
- Thursday, January 6 will be collected on Friday, January 7
- And Friday, January 7 will be collected on Saturday, January 8
Due to the national HGV driver shortage the district council also has some new arrangements in place.
Missed recycling or food waste should be taken back in and re-presented on the next scheduled collection day, as they can't return for it during the national driver shortage.
Missed glass recycling should be handled the same way or take it to one of the recycling bank sites located throughout the district.
For missed refuse or garden waste, if there is enough room in the bin to keep it and re-present it on the next scheduled collection day residents are advised to do so.
If not, report it within 2 business days of being missed and leave it out.
