PLANS have been revealed for a vacant police station to become office spaces.
TFP Financial Planning have submitted a planning application to Maldon District Council to transform the town's former police station into offices.
The company seeks the change of use of the building to offices.
The proposed development would not result in any outside alterations so it would remain the same as it was as a police station.
It proposes to refurbish the inside of the building to a "modern working office arrangement" with associated facilities on both the ground and first floors.
The proposals would provide office space for a total of 28 employees.
The ground floor is to be occupied by the applicant providing for about 12 full time and two part time employees.
The first floor office space would be rented out to other businesses in the area to provide for about 14 full time employees in total over four separate offices.
It would keep the stairwells and basement in the building as they are, and secure cycle spaces are provided inside.
A previous bid to convert the station into five self-contained apartments were refused for a number of reasons including the loss of a place of employment or community use.
Maldon District Council will rule on the new application.
