New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to three Maldon district eateries, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.
The Royal Oak in Fambridge Road, Hazeleigh was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 14.

Pirates Bay Adventure Golf in Promenade Park was also handed the highest rating after assessment on August 25 last year.
And the McDonalds takeaway in Fullbridge, Maldon, was also given a score of five on January 12.

It means that of Maldon's 104 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 84 (81 per cent) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
