A DRINK driver who was found with a class A drug in his possession has been fined more than £300.
Tony John Brennan, 25, of West Street, Tollesbury, was found to have 79 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was stopped in Butt Lane in Maldon.
This is above the legal limit.
He was also found to have 0.73 grams of cocaine in his possession - a controlled class A drug.
Brennan admitted both offences when he appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on February 1.
He was disqualified from driving for 20 months, which will be reduced by 20 weeks if he completes a course by March 13, 2023.
The defendant must also pay a £350 fine, £105 of prosecution costs and a £70 victim services surcharge.
