A DRIVER from Maldon has been handed a hefty fine for using a car without insurance.
Shiplu Miah, 35, of Dryden Close in Maldon was stopped in Pines Hill in Stansted while driving a Ford Galaxy without insurance.
The case was proved via the single justice procedure at Basildon Magistrates’ Court.

This means it was decided by a magistrate and Miah didn't need to attend court.
Miah was fined £660 and also ordered to pay a victim services fund charge of £66 and £90 costs.
The defendant also banned from driving for 6 months due to repeat offending.
