A BAND is set to perform under its new name for the first time at a Maldon venue.
The popular Essex band formerly known as Rich Clifford and The Young Once has changed its name to The Young Once.
Originally formed in 2014, the band’s new name reflects how its musical diversity has increased through the years.
The band consists of Julian May on lead vocals, Ernie Lamprell on lead guitar, Stewart Watts on rhythm guitar, Bruce Wheeler on bass guitar and Rick Fitzpatrick on drums.
It also includes a new addition to the line-up with Richard Langstone bringing keyboards to the sound.

The artists perform hits by stars from the golden age of pop including The Searchers, Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, and Buddy Holly - the soundtrack of their youth when they were “Young Once”.
The Young Once will be appearing under its new name for the first time at Bewicks Live in Maldon on Wednesday, April 6.
The musicians will be performing onstage from 8pm to 11pm.
Tickets cost £5 on the door and guests can enjoy a licensed bar.
Run by Lou Blackwell, Bewicks Live is at the rear of the Swan Hotel in High Street.
