A NEW project has been launched which aims to bring people together from across the Dengie.
Maldon and District Community Voluntary Service (CVS) supported by Cadent, has launched the Dengie Village Friends project.
The two-hour drop-in sessions are held fortnightly at a range of locations, giving people the chance to enjoy a friendly chat over a complimentary tea or coffee.
The locations include The Three Horseshoes in Althorne, on Wednesdays from 12pm to 2pm, and Bistro on the Quay on Thursdays from 10am to 12pm.

It also includes Holly's Diner in Latchingdon from 11am to 1pm on Thursdays and Bits and Bobs Tea Room in Southminster on Mondays also from 10am to noon.
Sarah Troop, director of Maldon and District CVS, said: "This project builds on the great community spirit seen during the pandemic by creating hubs in central community locations throughout Dengie villages.
"People can visit to find out about local services and activities but also to meet others living in the community and make new friends."
Going forward it is hoped to broaden the scope of the sessions to include home safety advice and digital support.
