AN acoustic band is set to stage a concert in an effort to raise funds for the people of Ukraine.
The Remedy is an acoustic band playing popular music from the 50's, 60's 70's and 80's.
The band will be staging a concert in Southminster in aid of the crisis in Ukraine.
Julian May, singer and guitarist with the band, said: "I'm sure we have all been heartened to see the relief effort that is going on to support the people having to flee their homeland.

"I know we were definitely moved by people's kindness and generosity in bringing light into a dark situation, so in our line of work it seems the one thing we can do is to put on a concert for Ukraine.
"As a band, we know how music can lift people's spirits in times such as these, people can come along and enjoy a thoughtful but entertaining performance and at the same time bring much needed support to the Ukrainian people."

Julian added the concert theme will revolve around the following lyrics by Travis Greene, dedicated to all the people who have mobilised to overcome the darkness with the light of compassion:
Love needs no weapon; it is its own defence - in the end love will always win
The fundraising concert will be held at St Leonards Church on Saturday, April 9 from 2pm to 4pm.
Tickets will cost £5 at the door and the band says further donations will be appreciated.
