A MALDON school has picked up an award recognising its commitment to the health and wellbeing of its students.
Plume Academy has won an award for its work as part of the Healthy Schools Programme.
Sarah Freeman, director of human resources at the academy, was delighted to receive the Affinity Award on behalf of the academy as part of the annual Essex Healthy Schools Awards.
The school's work as part of the programme was led and delivered by Sarah Parker, Turn Around Centre lead.

A Plume Academy spokesman said: "This award is a fantastic example and recognition for the hard work and dedication that all involved deliver on a daily basis and we could not be prouder of what this means for our stakeholders across the academy community."
The Essex Healthy Schools Programme is a school health improvement strategy and its annual awards celebrate the work schools in the county are doing for the health and wellbeing of their students and pupils.
A spokesman for Essex Public Health and Healthy Schools said: "It was great to have so many schools representing primary and secondary schools across Essex."
"The dedication and commitment to the health and wellbeing of your pupils through the programme was evident from the number of schools who had achieved foundation and enhanced status over the past two years."
