DETERIORATING roads in a village have sparked calls for action by an MP.
Home Secretary and Tiptree MP Priti Patel reviewed key roads in the village to inspect areas where residents say potholes, deteriorating surfaces and faded markings are causing safety problems.
This included the road surface at and around the junction of Maldon Road and Great Braxted Road, as well as in Rectory Road, potholes in Maldon Road, deteriorating pavements near the Factory Shop and similar issues in Church Road.

After her tour, the Conservative MP said: “I can see why constituents are so concerned.
“There are some really bad areas which cannot be allowed to deteriorate any further and need to be tackled as soon as possible.”
Ms Patel has called for extensive fixing of potholes, resurfacing and the repainting of white lines at junctions and pedestrian crossings.
She added: “I will be in contact with Essex County Council and the Highways Department to have this work prioritised.
“I want to see these repairs moving up the agenda.
“I would like to see the roads in Tiptree made much safer and more resilient.
“There is no point in carrying out road repairs that deteriorate in a few months.”
