A SHOP in Maldon was reportedly "evacuated" yesterday afternoon after it filled with smoke coming from a fridge.
Firefighters rushed to The East of England Co-op in Cross Road after they were called at 1.10pm.
Crews from Maldon and Witham were on the scene, and onlookers reported the shop had been evacuated.

An Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews reported that the shop was smoke logged with smoke coming from a fridge.”
Crews ventilated the smoke-filled shop and made it safe by 1.47pm.
