VILLAGES are set to host three days of celebrations to mark the Queen’s platinum jubilee.
The UK is set to celebrate Her Majesty’s 70 years of service with a four-day long celebration from Thursday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5.
Asheldham and Dengie are hosting events in the village hall to mark the historic occasion.
The weekend kicks off with a children’s tea party in the hall and garden in Manor Road from 2pm to 5pm on Friday.
Music, games, activities, memorabilia and party food will be provided.

Adults will celebrate the next day, on the Saturday, at a 50s-themed dance.
Guests should bring their own drinks but a buffet will be provided.
Jon Greaves and Angela Gardner, as the Dengie Duo, will perform as villagers dance the night away from 8pm to 11pm.
The final event will be a final tea party at the Dengie’s own Lyons’ Corner House in the hall.
Visitors will be served cream teas by Lyons ‘nippies’ from 3pm to 5.30pm on Sunday.
Tickets for the celebrations on Friday and Saturday cost £10 while Sunday’s are £7.50.
