A LEGENDARY race has revealed its next date after raising £30,000 for its charities.
Maldon’s famous mud race attracted 300 participants who got down and dirty for charity on Sunday.
The huge event, started back in 1973, takes place in the town’s popular Promenade Park.
It returned at the weekend after being postponed for two years due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Nearly 15,000 spectators attended and £30,000 was raised for the mud race charities with comedian Jo Brand as the guest of honour.
She started the race and cheered on her daughter Maisi Bourke who tackled the run alongside her boyfriend Alfie Richer for a Macmillan Cancer Support.
Runners appeared in all kinds of costumes and one couple even raced in their wedding dress and suit after tying the knot in the morning.
After masses of publicity and requests for sponsorship as well as entries in next year's race, organiser Brian Farrington has decided to open registration early for May 2023.

He hopes to make the next race, returning on May 14 in 2023, the largest event yet.
Individual entry costs £45, or you can race in a team of up to 8 people at £45 per person.
Entry opened online yesterday at maldonmudrace.com/enter.
Brian told Chelmer Radio they'll also be looking to see who will pick up the gauntlet next year with hopes a sports personality could try their luck on the muddy course.
