A BID to change a high street clothes shop into a new takeaway has been revealed.
The Kings Head Centre, in Maldon High Street, has submitted plans to change its units 11 and 12-14a into a deli/bar and takeaway with inside and outside seating.
A planning statement states the units have been used for retail over the years.
Currently, the ground floor 12-14a is being used as a clothes shop, with adjoining shop 11 with a separate entrance.
The proposal is again for part retail with sales from the proposed deli, but also serving snacks and takeaways from the deli and a bar.

The application says: “The proposal requires very little change to the existing internal layout, only the re-establishing of the openings to shop 11.”
There would be outside seating fronting White Horse Lane under the cantilevered section of the building and within the courtyard between shop 17 and existing seating.
Bench tables and stalls would be in the existing shop 12-14a, with central tables and stalls fronting White Horse Lane.
Snacks would be prepared in a small kitchenette within shop 11.
Maldon District Council will have the final say on the plans.
