A FARM held a successful open day with fresh fruity tasters and fun.
LEAF - Linking the environment and farming - organised the event on Wilkin and Sons’ Jubilee Field.
Farmers and producers from the area provided tasters and products from their farms.
There are several varieties of strawberries grown on the farm and some early raspberries were ready for tasting.
Fresh pastries, jams, curds, fruit gin liqueurs and English spirits were also ready on the day.
The farm has six-week-old piglets who were up to mischief as one escaped the enclosure for a quick adventure.
A display of farm vehicles, vintage lawnmowers and WWII historians created interest for young and old alike.
Manager Andrey Ivanov said: “It has been a remarkable day and we were delighted to see so many people relaxing and enjoying a day out on the farm.
“Many people know about Tiptree preserves but few have an opportunity to visit the strawberry fields and learn the different ways of growing the fruit.
“We are grateful to Lodge Coaches and the tractor trailer drivers and guides who kept passengers entertained and informed about the different fruits grown on the farm.”
