A NEW restaurant is coming to Maldon as owners look to give the community “a modern Italian venue where they can taste the modern Italian cuisine”.
Francesco Caruso, Armando Stringa and Roberto Muca are preparing to bring their restaurant 'Salt' to the town.
Head chef and co-founder Francesco has owned two restaurants in central London, general manager Armando has extensive experience in management, and Roberto is an entrepreneur who has had a successful string of investments in the hospitality industry.
Now, the trio are set to bring the new Italian restaurant to Maldon, with the aim to give guests the taste of “modern Italian cuisine”.
The team said: “Maldon has so much history, and a lovely community, which has grown rapidly in the last few years.
“Despite the pandemic, we thought this was a good time to invest and give this community a modern Italian venue where they can truly taste the modern Italian cuisine and enjoy a trendy bar with some of the best cocktails and fine wines.”
SALT will be a modern Italian restaurant, with stone-baked, wood-fired pizzas, using a pizza oven that was made by artisans in a Napolitano factory, in the capital of pizza in Italy.
The menu is set to include fresh meat and fish from local suppliers, and the drinks menu will feature spirits, cocktails and wines from different origins in Italy.
The hope is to announce an official opening date next month.
The management team added: “We work hard every day to get closer to the opening day.
“Some things are not up to us, but we estimate by next month we shall make an announcement and send out the invites to the local community and businesses.”
