POLICE have arrested a man after a victim was rushed to hospital following a violent assault in Maldon.
Essex Police says it has arrested a man, 21, on suspicion of Actual Bodily Harm (ABH).
It comes after officers were notified of a fight at 5.30am on Saturday morning.
The incident took place in Maldon Road, Maldon.
A man in his 30s, has been taken to hospital after sustaining a head injury.
The suspect arrested remains in custody for questioning.
Chief Inspector Steve Scott-Haynes, District Commander, said: “We remain on scene whilst officers carry out inquiries to establish the facts of what happened leading up to the incident.
“We would like to reassure those in the area that there is no wider risk to the community and we would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information that could help our enquiries to contact us and tell us what they know.”

Those with information are asked to quote incident 267 of July 9 to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible.
