A YACHT club is expecting a royal visit to celebrate a huge milestone.

The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club is celebrating its 150th birthday in Burnham-on-Crouch.

They hosted a weekend of events at the yacht club on the River Crouch.

The Princess Royal will be visiting the club today to watch the afternoon racing at the quay.

Princess Anne previously visited the yacht club in 2015 to present awards to sailors.

The Royal Corinthian One Design (RCOD) regatta took place over the weekend from Friday to Sunday.

Today, races continue with a morning pursuit race for the NVR Silver Salver, which was sent to the club for its 150th anniversary.

The event will be followed by an afternoon race for the Acorn Trophy, which dates back to 1872.

The Acorn Trophy race starts as 1.20pm and is expected to last for 90 minutes.
