A BURNHAM pub held its first ever Pride event at the weekend.
The Victoria Inn, in Burnham-on-Crouch, staged its first Pride day which saw the pub packed with people.
Hundreds gathered together throughout the day and into the night at the pub.
There was entertainment throughout the event from DJ Prucey B, Disney Guy, Chamonix Aspen and Saffron Slaytor.
There was also a glitter bar for everyone to enjoy and the first 100 people to arrive received a free shot of flavoured vodka.
The event was sponsored by drinks firm JJ Whitley.
This year marks 50 years of Pride in the UK, a massive milestone for LGBTQ+ history.
The first ever Pride was held in London in 1972, where about 2,000 people marched for gay rights.
Now more than a million people attend pride in London.
The day in Burnham-on-Crouch brought people together in the town.
Victoria Inn landlady Lorna Hart said: “We had an amazing day full of fun and laughter.
“We are overwhelmed by the amount of people who attended and thanked us for holding the event .
“We will most definitely be doing it again next year and really hope we can get the whole town involved.
“We have set a date already.”
The Victoria Inn received a thank you card from someone who attended the event which expressed how much it meant to them.

Lorna said they have never received a thank you card for an event before so they know how much it meant to people.
SAhe said: “Lots of people who came along expressed how grateful they were to us for holding such an inclusive event.
“Many people told us it was the first time they had been out in Burnham but had such a great time they are looking forward to coming back.”
Next year's Burnham Pride will be on July 15, 2023.
