A FORMER charity shop could be demolished and homes built in its place.
A planning application for the former Face animal charity shop will be discussed by Tiptree Parish Council at its meeting tomorrow.
The shop, at 72 Church Road, Tiptree, could be demolished if the application is finally approved by Colchester Council.
The plan includes knocking down the existing building, removing the tree and constructing a new building to provide commercial units and homes with on-site parking, refuse storage and bicycle parking.
If approved, the ground floor will remain a retail unit and three floors will be built for apartments.
A total of seven apartments will be created, with six being two-bedroom apartments and one being a three-bedroom flat.
Private balcony terraces would be built to overlook the streets.

In the objection, a member of the public said: “The increase in vehicle traffic during demolition and construction and also upon completion will reduce safety to access resident parking in Mynott Court.”
Colchester Council will have the final say on the plans.
