DRIVERS can expect delays with a village road to close for a month.
Steeple Road in Southminster is set to shut on August 17.
The road is one of the key routes out of the town and can be a route for drivers looking to reach Asheldham, Mayland or Latchingdon.
But now the road is scheduled to close for up to 31 days from its junction with Steeple Meadows in a northerly direction.
According to Essex Highways, the closure is required while road realignment works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

In order to bypass the road closure, drivers can use Steeple Road, Queen Street, Pantile Hill, High Street, North Street, North End, Cripplegate and Tillingham Road to reach Asheldham before heading east on Southminster Road, Green Lane, Foxhall Road and vice versa.
Essex Highways also say access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
